How to play Waffle in five steps
The rules fit in a minute, the puzzle can take a good deal longer. Here is the quick version before you dive in.
Read the board
Waffle opens with a 5×5 grid of scrambled letters. Hidden inside are six five-letter words: three across and three down, crossing each other.
Learn the colours
Green means the letter is already home. Yellow means it belongs in that word but sits in the wrong spot. Grey means it does not fit there.
Swap two tiles
Tap or click one tile, then another, and they trade places. You have 15 swaps in total, so every move should have a reason.
Start with corners and crossings
Letters where two words meet count twice. Settling those first usually unlocks the rest of the grid.
Finish with swaps to spare
Solve all six words before the counter hits zero. Each unused swap earns you a star, so tidy solves feel extra good.
